Professional Experience

Fernando Sucre Míguez received his Law and Political Science Degree in 1990.

He practiced law as an Associate Attorney at one of the most renowned Law Firms in the country and in 1995 he founded and became a Partner of the Law Firm Sucre, Briceño & Co.

He has worked in the public sector holding office as Legal Advisor Director for the Ministry of Government and Justice on two occasions, in 1991 and 1999. In 2001, he was appointed Acting Vice-Minister of the Ministry of Government and Justice. In 2002, the Executive Branch of Government declared him qualified to hold the position of Supreme Court Justice.

He is Permanent Observer to the Group of 100, a legal think tank at the Center for Legal Innovation, Development and Research for Latin America, which is jointly sponsored by Spanish law firm Garrigues and by Instituto Tecnológico de Monterrey.

Furthermore, Fernando Sucre has been a member of the Board of Directors of Mi Banco, S.A. BMF since 2005, and was appointed President of said institution from 2008-2011. Also has been member of the Board of Directors of GS Relocation Panama, S.A.

His vast practice and experience in the areas of Corporate Law, Capital Markets and Banking and Financial Law is well recognized among his peers.

He is the author of “The Use of the Credit Card in Panama,” “The Search of Our Identity” and “The Triumph of a Statesman, the Life and Work of Enrique Jiménez,” and co-authored specialized monographs on the subject of Copyright in Getting The Deal Through.
